Lara’s fitness journey began at a young age with her love for dance. She was engaged with dancing all throughout grade school. After high school, she started attending aerobic classes before going on to teaching aerobics which included step, kickboxing, toning, water aerobics, Zumba, and yoga. She, like many others, was afraid to weight train because of what she thought it would do to her body. She finally decided to give it a try. Shortly after, she realized she was very wrong when her body began to change in a positive way. She became leaner, stronger, and ultimately felt better. From that point on, she was hooked and decided to become a certified personal trainer. Lara’s favorite part of personal training is watching her clients’ progress, reach new milestones, and do things they didn’t think were possible when they first started. She does not view training as work because she truly loves what she does.
Matthew Melancon's passion for fitness started when he began attending college at the University of Louisiana. He majored in kinesiology with a concentration of exercise science and fitness studies and graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2021. Since then he's been working hard to pursue his dream career of personal training and hopes to work with athletics in the future. Matthew earned his personal trainer certification with NASM in 2023 and continues to grow his knowledge and passion for fitness. Matthew's goal is to guide you to make healthy lifestyle choices and help you accomplish your fitness goals.
Conner DeRouen is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council of Exercise (ACE) with extensive experience in the fitness industry. He has worked with a diverse clientele, ranging from beginners to experienced lifters, helping them achieve their fitness goals. Conner specializes in weight loss and body transformation, muscle gain and strength training, post-injury rehabilitation, functional training and mobility, and sports performance enhancement. His training philosophy emphasizes sustainable habits and a balanced approach to fitness, incorporating strength training, cardiovascular exercise, and proper nutrition.
Outside of the gym, Conner enjoys swimming, watching movies, and exploring new culinary experiences. He is also an avid reader of fitness and nutrition literature, constantly seeking to expand his knowledge and expertise. Having successfully rehabilitated from tearing each calf muscle in separate years, Conner has gained a deeper understanding of the recovery process. He has helped clients lose weight, build muscle, and assisted fully disabled service members in improving their fitness routines. Conner is passionate about helping others achieve their fitness goals and is excited to bring his expertise to our team.
